Our Commitment to Community Engagement and Support
Richmond Tennis Association
Richmond Tennis Association (RTA) is one of the oldest and most successful non-profit tennis organizations in the United States. Recognized as a top community organization by both the USTA and USTA/Mid-Atlantic Section, the RTA operates a variety of tennis programs and events throughout the year for tennis players of all ages and abilities.
Irv Cantor began his involvement with RTA in the 70s. While in law school, he spent his summers working for RTA, running the many tournaments held at the Byrd Park Tennis Courts. Now that Irv has more time to give back to the community, he joined the RTA Board in 2022 as a dedicated committee member.

The Richmond Tennis Association in partnership with the City of Richmond offers a free tennis program for youth who might otherwise not be exposed to the game. The Program is held at Byrd Park and led by RTA-selected tennis instructor, James Skinner. The RTA hopes this program will nurture a life-long love of tennis and help the youth achieve life skills, including understanding the importance of health and fitness.

Brain Injury Association of Virginia
BIAV is a statewide, primary source of information and personal support for individuals, families, and professionals whose lives have been impacted by brain injury. CGBB has been an active participant and sponsor of the Brain Injury Association of Virginia for years and is committed to fighting for brain injury clients. Attorney Irvin Cantor, founding partner of the Richmond, VA law firm of Cantor Grana Buckner Bucci, has been dedicated to the families of those who have suffered serious injuries or wrongful death since 1979. His work has resulted in more than 2,000 favorable verdicts and settlements for his clients, including more than 500 traumatic brain injury cases.
Traumatic brain injury cases comprise the largest portion of Irv’s practice. He has successfully handled brain injury cases for over 40 years. He wrote the chapter dealing with legal aspects of brain injury cases for the seminal medical textbook on the subject, Brain Injury Medicine. Irv is a past president of the Brain Injury Association of Virginia and was the 2010 recipient of the Weinstock Award from BIAV. He also was awarded the 2023 BIAV Anne McDonnell Legacy Award for his significant, long-term contributions of lasting impact to the field of brain injury both professionally and through advocacy. Since 2022, Partner Joseph Cantor has been an active BIAV board member, and this year, our CGBB team will be the Title sponsor of the annual Charity Golf Classic.
CGBB & Richmond Animal Care and Control
On May 5th, Yam Chop spent the day with our CGBB team and stole all of our hearts! Through Richmond Animal Care and Control’s Casual Friday Foster program, businesses have the opportunity to foster a shelter dog or cat at their office and give these animals a much-needed break from the shelter. Yam Chop is a two-year-old sweetheart who had the absolute best time hanging out with our team for the day and proved that she would make the perfect addition to someone’s family. A few days after her return to RACC, Yam Chop was adopted and went home with her forever family!
If you are interested in the RACC Casual Friday program, email Robin.yo[email protected] to sign up to host a RACC dog or cat at your office.
