Joseph Cantor, Partner of Cantor Grana Buckner Bucci, has been elected as the next President of the Board of the Brain Injury Association of Virginia (BIAV). His presidency will go into effect at the BIAV Board meeting on February 24th, marking the beginning of Joseph’s two-year term in office.
Mr. Cantor’s nomination was a result of the Board’s nominating committee recognizing his dedication and experience within the organization. His presidency entails significant responsibilities, including presiding over all general meetings of BIAV and the Board. Additionally, he will play a crucial role in appointing Board members to various committees, as well as serving ex-officio with the right to vote on all Board committees.
Joseph Cantor brings a rich history of involvement with BIAV, having been associated with the organization for most of his life. His connection dates back to his childhood when his father, Irv Cantor, served as the President of the Board over 20 years ago, after having been actively involved with BIAV since the 1980s.
His dedication to BIAV extended to serving as an intern during high school, where he assisted with marketing as well as the coordination of the annual Charity Golf Tournament, which he has participated in since its inception in 2004.” Joining the Board in 2022, Mr. Cantor has showcased a deep commitment to the organization’s mission and objectives. Notably, for the past two years, he has been the emcee for the annual Legacy Awards Dinner, further contributing to the success and visibility of BIAV events.
Mr. Cantor’s recent remarks about this new role underscore his passion and dedication to the families affected by brain injury: “I am honored by the Board’s trust in me to serve as President. I am excited to help BIAV continue to achieve its mission to advance education, awareness, support, treatment, and research to improve the quality of life for all people affected by brain injury. As a trial lawyer specializing in brain injury, I see every day the many struggles my clients and their families face as a result of brain injury. As BIAV President, I pledge to advocate and fight for all Virginia families affected by brain injury.”
