$3.5 MILLION

RICHMOND, VA – The Virginia Trial Firm (Cantor, Grana, Buckner, Bucci) announced a $3.5 million settlement in a car accident case involving severe brain injury and multiple orthopedic injuries. The settlement was reached with State Farm prior to the commencement of litigation.

The devastating incident occurred in December 2021, when a 40-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle while shopping in Arlington. The impact left her with life-threatening injuries, including a traumatic brain injury. She remained unconscious and on a ventilator for eight days and spent months in intensive care and rehabilitation.

The victim faced a long and challenging recovery, having to relearn basic skills like walking and talking. Ongoing medical care, therapy, and the inability to return to her job have significantly impacted her life. While she has made remarkable progress, the woman continues to experience lasting effects of the brain injury.

The $3.5 million settlement covers the victim’s extensive medical expenses, lost wages, and estimated future loss of earning capacity. It represents the policy limits of the defendant’s insurance.
